i think in southeast asia, only the philippines has real cherry blossom trees. japan donated 30 sakura trees to atok in benguet located in northern luzon in 2015 in celebration of 40 years of sisterhood ties with benguet province. they can be seen in sakura park. temperature of the place can go below zero during amihan (northeast monsoon), hence, the perfect place for the sakura tree to survive. they started blooming in 2018. they have bloomed again lately. we're on the 2nd week of july, 2024. full bloom though is expected in 6-10 years.

Hi Aki! I saw your video, and it was incredible, more insane, really! I couldn't help but feel so patriotic while watching. A humble suggestion would be to highlight my community, too, as throughout the video, I didn't get to see anyone from the Indian community. I'm not putting a damper on your efforts or complaining, but it would have been so nice to have been represented in this beautiful video.

This is beautiful work, Aki. I am researching this camera and trying to decide whether or not to buy it. Your video did much more to sway me than Insta's on commercials. I know you did a short video with a quick explanation of how you do nightscapes, but I wish you would do full tutorials for each one, i.e. one for cityscapes, one for star trails, etc.

Pulau Tengah used to hold Vietnamese boat refugees rescued at sea awaiting sponsorship to immigrate to the Western countries after the Vietnam war. My family and I were at Pulau Tengah on December 1978 before heading to the United States. Pulau Bidong was the bigger Vietnamese boat refugee island. It looks like Pulau Tengah has recovered from human activities now look so beautiful and breathtaking. I see that they have developed a resort and built a pier there. I’m glad it’s protected as a national park. Thanks to the Malaysian government, the Vietnamese refugees got a second chance in life after the brutal 10 year US Vietnam war.
